...the fuses should blow pretty quickly.
Fuses protect against current overload which causes heating and increased fire risk. You need an RCD to protect against shocks.

Alternatively you could bathe wearing a Faraday cage wire mesh clothing, like they wear to service live power lines. Although, that might get rusty from repeated swims and prove fatal!
This reminds me of a classic set-up ... in college on a trip to Paris I was in the Eiffel tower, and a lightening storm started in the distance.
The guy next to me said "I hope that doesn't get much closer, us being in a metal tower and all."
And because I had just learned this in physics class and felt like showing off, I guess, I said "Yeah, but we're in a cage. I learned in physics that the current will go around us. We're safe."
And he said, "No, I think that won't be much help here. I've taken a little physics myself."
And, being the plucky smart ass I was at the time, I asked "Oh, what kind of physics have you taken?"
And it turns out he was a physicist for Los Alamos.
The only thing missing was the drum & cymbal kick.

Haha! So are there staff to escort people off the tower when a storm comes, or do they encourage people to leave, or do they go on as if there's no added risk?

*They're French, they don't give a shit what happens to tourists. C'est la merde...
*The poster is -in fact- joking...¬¬, except that some Parisians are real dicks.

I didn't know they had dicks in Paris, I thought they were all pussies!?!?! ;)

demagogue, your 'Los Alamos physicist' is wrong and you were correct. The Effiel tower is no different to any other tall metal-framed building that gets regularly struck by lightning.

Unlike every other TTLG thread this thread is now about being a smart ass.
