I think Uncia was wishing harm on the abstract child that represents a particularly cliched argument form, rather than wishing harm on any actual, factual children.

Everyone seems to consetrate on the abuser. What about the child? Can any of you immagine how it feels to grow up with this shame and feeling that you can never tell anyone... If one child can be saved, the must be stopped.
It would probably help the child if they weren't expected to feel shame & guilt. We have a stereotype of a 'victim' which I think is damaging- it obviously depends on the type and the extent of the abuse, who the abuser was and the personality of the victim, but not everyone who has this happen to them has their life destroyed.
I'm usually told not to say things like this, because apparently if people don't have their life destroyed by this sort of thing paedophiles will think it's ok to do it. I think that we don't help victims by pushing onto them our own guilt, distaste and horror at what has been done to them.

Nono. I actually meant that kid. Yes, that exact kid, the one sitting behind me on the plane kicking my seat for 8 hours. I wish explosive decompression would suck him out throug the window and right into the damned engine intake.
Then we'd crashland on an island and I'd be a doctor and spooky shit would happen.

Then who edits our posts when we use images that are too large?

There are forces at work here we weren't meant to understand. It's best not to dwell on it.

In all this vast understanding of human sexuality and the naturalness of a desire for pubescent procreation we have failed to take into account that violence is also very natural. What is more instinctive than the desire to protect our offspring from predators? So please try to understand that while I mash your balls to jelly for macking on my children.
