Long story short, people should know better than to argue about these kind of things.

Hay guys I heard that sometimes situations change?
What's that? We're suppose to act like nothing has happened since last time a thread was locked?
Oh ok.
cosmicnut on 17/10/2007 at 07:55
long story short.
Games are Copyright to their publisher
Downloading a copy of a game without the publishers permission is illegal
forums helping members pirate software have been shut down!
TTLG forums don't want to be shut down.....
can't get simpler than that. It doesn't matter how old the game is, how mean the publishers are....
Add to that the fact that the mods don't like people talking about it and you don't have a leg to stand on.

These new members are just so adorable.
And every single point he made is true.
ZylonBane on 19/10/2007 at 15:18
Of course they're true, to the point of being self-evident. The cute thing is that he's earnestly conviced that any of his points matter.
The TTLG policy regarding piracy is what it is. I don't see it changing anytime soon. And really, what's not to love about admin-sanctioned flaming of warez kiddies?

I could think of better ways to spend my time. Accepting this forum rule doesn't mean I have to enforce it.
Lansing on 19/10/2007 at 22:14
No-one is asking you to enforce it. It's perfectly sensible that this forum doesn't condone violitions of international copyright laws, and if you feel that SS1 or SS2 should be legal to copy then TTLG aren't the people to petition.

Oh, I was under the impression you treated everyone like that. :tsktsk:

Hi all
Nice to see an active SS2 forum - not sure I would find a good one when I decided to find my old disk and give the game another go.
I have basically supported TTLG and bought many of their games - I think I lost Terra Nova though.
I played UW when it first came out and also SS1 and SS2
I think its a shame that having purchased the game you cant make a back up of it as in the past some game CDs have detoriated faster than I would have expected.
Saying that though - my SS2 CD bought so long ago seems to be working fine at the moment.
