I know you were all thinking "Oh no not another dummy who can't figure it out".
But that's not my question. I'm asking what's the gain? So I find the place, drown myself, voila. Then I go to a silly Dremora give him a sword, read the inscription, get a few blessings. So why go through all that trouble? Can't you get anything else out of it?
Puzzle canal sucks...

*chuckle* Well, two things can be gotten there... 1) the blessing, and 2) the acknowledgement that you've done that shrine (it's one of the shrines you have to do if you want to advance further than 0th lvl in the Temple)
Given, though, that most people say it's got good loot, lots of Daedric baddies, etc.... yeah, it does suck compared to what it actually has ;)

out of frustration I killed the Dremora a few times over, that was fun though :D
