I don't think the dot is gonna work on the right side of the +, since you are not running the game from D:\shock. (D is my drive letter)
And you also forgot to set the CD path in the top line.
So long as you have a full install, you don't need to have a CD path.
Relative paths (dots) work just fine.

This is what my updated install.cfg is looking like. And I've tried to update the registry (which it does successfully), but the patch still cannot find the SS2 Directory?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
cd_path D:\
install_path C:\Sshock2
language english
resname_base C:\Sshock2+D:\shock
load_path C:\Sshock2+D:\shock
script_module_path C:\Sshock2+D:\shock
movie_path C:\Sshock2\cutscenes+D:\shock\cutscenes

Do you even need to update? Do you have a multiplayer button in the main menu?
Because I'm pretty sure you have an updated game already.

It states File Version 1.0 ; Product Version 1.15?
I honestly wouldn't mind if it's not updated. I've got Save Games taken care of and now i'm just crashing on the 4 year mission startups. If that is due to the update, then yes...I'll need that.
Thanks for you help guys!

You've got mail.

If anyone knows what files the patch adds to the SS2 folder, I could just compress those files into a zip file and send it to you by email. Then you'd just extract everything into your SS2 folder and voila.
Using patch 2.3 is a very good idea, because it fixes many noticable bugs and adds cool features.

Okay, the patch works great! So far I've gotten my saves to work, patched, and texture edit to config. But I'm still crashing when I go from year 3 to year 4 on the training (the beginning). Is that a point where a movie plays and that is why it's crashing? I just cannot think why it would be doing that.
I get NO error messages, just a Vista 'System Shock 2' had to be stopped...

Probably the movies yeah. You could try the Cutscene Fix (re-registering LGVID.AX). I'm stabbing in the dark a bit as I'm not sure if the Indeo Codec works on Vista at all. Anyone knows this?
EDIT: If it doesn't there are still ways to get around this, eg re-encoded videos.
