I'm pretty sure those separate garments of constant-effect shield don't stack. At least, I tried it with chameleon and that didn't stack.
Anyway if I were to balance the armor types I'd take glass down to 45 and put indoril up to 55, and take the other medium armors up proportionally.

Well, Chitin certainly is good, as you can afford it from when you start.
And Daedric is fine in its own right, though you'll be hard pressed to get a complete suit...
But all the best items are magical, unique too, I believe.
For example....
Say you roll up into Tel Fyr
You make your way up the tower, kill off the main Wiz... and of course you're not cheating right?
You toss on his armor, and don't even consider for a second looking through the chests and whatnot up there...
Surprise, you just missed magic light armor that has a rating of 100+ (I think its somewhere around 180, but I can't remember for certain)
add to that the fact that you missed a brawl where you can pick up the Daedric Crescent.. which, while good in its own right is only slightly more tasty than the Pillsbury variety.
Seriously though, I hold this one up there with the Ice blade OTM, but it doesn't quite match my enchanted Daedric Claymore(noone would buy that damn Golden Saint from me, anyway).
Also, if you're looking for someone to buy your more expensive items, there's one of those gremlin looking guys running around somewhere that has a significant amount of scrilla on him(can't remember the name of the creature right now, but they frequent Daedric ruins).
BTW, if I accidently posted this in the main forum, I had a huge brain fart, but didn't want to retype it
Cheers

get some exquisite appareal (2 rings, shirt, pants/skirt, shoes, robe, ammy) and enchant them all constant effect shield, i forget how high of shield you can actually get doing that but it is really bad ass cause then you have less than 150 with weapon/clothing and you hardly ever get hit.......granted you have to be high enough level to do this that it doesnt really matter at that point:ebil: How about using Sanctuary instead - I haven't tried it... anybody who have tried it?
Then you should be VERY hard to hit - and your eq. won't get damaged...

here are some numbers.
When the armor skill is maxed (heavy and light) here are a few armor ratings. and YES. AC IS DEPENDENT ON YOUR SKILL
Daedric: 266
Ebony: 200
Glass: 166
I'm not sure about hte other armors. These are the only ones I had paid attention to.
Glass is definately hte best light armor. However, I'm starting to think its the best in the game, because it doesn't weight anything. Therefore, you can carry lots of other cool stuff. I believe a full daedric suit weighs like ~350. a lot. You can only carry one or 2 daedric weapons, and not much more.
and who needs an armor rating of 266 anyways? 166 seems like plenty.
at the beginning of the game, i trained with medium (misc. skill) and heavy (maj. skill) in order to get my enduracnce up as fast as possible. Got 5 everytime, I was maxed at endurance at lvl 9, and my hitpoints are based on this equation:
10L+31=HP (where L = level, and HP = hitpoints)

Who cares about the effect of the armor... it's all about how it looks. =)
zily on 3/6/2002 at 23:11
tuco's right. After level 30, nothing matters anymore.
I wear an ebony suit, however i do NOT wear the helmet. It makes my guy look like a pinhead...
Tuco on 3/6/2002 at 23:34
I thought the ebony helmet was really cool =D
Still, my mask was cooler =)

Seriously... after I beat the game, I started exploring wearing Netch Armour until I decided on starting over... and since Ebony is so good armour, and I hardly ever even got hit in GLASS, Daedric is a bit overkill, and it's good that you don't normally get it :)
