Looks like there are a few areas inaccessible in the demo; the level has more goals, probably.
a) The hangar is inaccessible. I'm guessing there's more to do before Sid will be your pilot. That transformer that can be destroyed probably is a part of it.
b) The "inclinator" is constantly mentioned -- and there seems to be a passage there.
c) There's an inaccessible door where the worker bot is.
d) I have a feeling the sewer is larger, too. No evidence, just a feeling.

Its been mentioned by one of the developers on the IONStorm forums that the demo is a portion of the first level but parts were cut out to prevent additional plot from being revealed.
The impression I got was that Seattle (where the demo is set) has been split in two halves, Upper and Lower. Upper Seattle (the Enclave) sits atop giant stilts and caters to the rich and elite. Those who live in Lower Seattle can visit the Upper but lately fewer passes are being issued allowing people to visit. The Inclinator I think is some kind of elevator connecting the two. Since the Enclave (Upper Seattle) is self-sufficient it has lower Seattle concerned that the Enclave would deliberately destroy the Inclinator in an "accident" thereby dooming Lower Seattle to poverty, starvation, and death.
A new religion is emerging which is unifying the poor and giving them hope.

The game was also probably supposed to be GOOD at some point too, but I guess THAT got cut.
Nevermind me, I kid because I feel betrayed.
Seriously though, if all levels are as freaking tiny as this demo it does not look good for the full game.

Nope. The Order popped up immediately after JC did this thing and collapsed civilization (partly) 20 years before.
What is popping up is the resurgance of the Knights Templar with the frustration of the Order.

By the way, the shortened level itself was a 226 MB download - I'm sure they would have included an entire level -- but it would have been a 500MB or something download, and it would have been unfeasible.

Umm, no. Do you understand how game size works? The size of the level has much less impact than the size of the code, and more importantly, art and sounds. Adding the rest of the level content would MAYBE add 70 megabytes... at the most. I mean, given that logic the full game will be about a 2 gigabyte footprint, and be roughly 6 hours in length.

No, that's
Call of Duty
Actually, I'm being kind - Call of Duty is a 4 hour game.
