Heh, some of the quotes on that site are.... uncanny.
Quote:
Economy got you down? Not sure if this whole “American capitalism” thing is working out for you? Looking for cheap housing?
Also, I can already see this commercial:
Quote:
"Hey, Jenny, you look down!"
"I sure am: I've been sick, had headaches, and even been seeing things that aren't there!"
"That's just the Plasmid Blues! You need to ease up on the splicing."

Don't roll your eyes. In the 1830's Alexis de Tocqueville referred to it as a "tyranny of the majority". Basically a dominant majority can use its will in such a way as to oppress any minorities, to silence dissent, or allow the government to become despotic through apathy and/or fear. You don't have to look hard to find examples.
That being said, those seastead guys clearly don't have both oars in the water.

I like it :thumb:
OT: I guess its easy to look at these guys and just laugh at a bunch of crackpots, but real change can take a big step, so I say fair play to them and wish them all the best in their inevitable failure and/or mass suicide.

Koki, have you read any stuff on Democracy v Republic? Like strengths and weaknesses?
Democracy is just the same as any ideology, has some good points and some not so good, like the idea that everyone should have a say in everything results in people banding together with the largest group dominating the minorities. Maybe that's fair, maybe it isn't, depends on your perspective.
(note, that I'm not saying a republic is the better, it has it's weaknesses too. The prime one being the same one that all ideologies have and that is corruption)

blah, blah, blah... two wolves and a sheep.
In other news, I applaud the crazy people and will hold thumbs for some cataclysmic Atlantis style end.
