I agree completely, but a real "Zone" mod is impossible to do as STALKER is now. It's just too small.

Well, I take back what I said about reliability. Turns out it just so happens the weapon I was using degrades at 250% the rate of everything else.
A high end artifact detector with a heads up display would be nice - considering how much money there is in the zone, I would expect there to be at least one.
Ammo types that actually matter.

Ammo type do matter. I constantly switch between regular and armor-piercing.
And about the detector: Isn't that what a Veles is, a detector with a headsup display? You can get one in the swamp.

Grenades from enemies that dont instantly explode when they touch the ground. Whenever I throw a grenade it takes about 3-4 sec for it to explode, it should be the same for enemies. Right now the grenade indicator is completely useless, especially when you're using a scope to aim and you can't see the damn indicator. Also they're too damn accurate, if you're hiding behind a wall or anything they'll be able to throw a grenade at you anyway. It will land right next to you and it will most likely kill you. I'm pretty sure their grenades can go through walls and stuff. It's pretty crazy when you're hiding behind something and you receive like 10 grenades at the same time from 200 meters away and they all land right at your feet and explode right away.
Apart from that I'd like to have enemies that dont have psychic abilities. By that I mean they shouldn't be able to see in total darkness, they shouldn't be able to hear everything from a mile away (seriously what good are silencers in this game if the enemies can hear it ?), they shouldn't be aware at all time of the presence and the whereabouts of the player character especially in pitch black darkness. Stalker is in no way realistic, especially when it comes to sneaking. It works fine until you get too close to the enemy at which point he becomes aware of your presence with his magic abilities, turns back and shoots you. It could have been a squirrel or a cat or whatever, but no he automatically knows it's the player character and so do all the other guards in the area. Basically I'd like modders to make the enemies a little blind and deaf especially during the night.
Another thing that needs fixing asap is the "machinegun of death" part when you arrive in cordon. Either make it so that it can't spot you so easily, or so that it doesnt do as much damage (or get rid of it altogether since it's a completely retarded idea in the first place anyway). And also enemies shouldn't be able to shoot through trees... You just can't shoot through a fucking tree... And I didn't like how you get arbitrarily robbed several times in the garbage without being able to do anything about it. It happened two times to me and each time I reloaded and spent all my money and hid my stuff away. I dont know if you can get your money and your stuff back when you get robbed but you should be able to.
Another thing I hate is the small delay in the appearance of the tooltips, they should appear instantly, you shouldn't have to wait 1 sec to read the description of an item.

No. The veles is still heads down, in that you can only use it with a pistol and you have to have it 'out'. I mean something that shows up on your actual HUD, like the life meter and such do.

I think it would be cool to have a lot of different weapon mods. I may just look into this myself if no one ends up making anything similar.
I'd like to see heavy use of different ammo types. I'd like some to work good for short distances, and others for far. So maybe you plan your attack by choosing the correct ammo loadout before you go.
I'd like to see the following attachments available:
A LAM for increased accuracy and flashlight
Modifiable sights maybe. Some are better than others.
Holosight attatchments, sniper and reflex scopes and EOtechs instead of just 1 scope attachment
Fore grip attachment for improved accuracy.
3 Silencer variations, small medium large which would effect the firing differently
Better Nade launcher aiming like in the old game.
Actual tweaking of weapons rather than just blindly upgrading

I haven't got the game yet but after playing SoC two things come to mind which could be implemented to both games. It would be nice after changing armor hand models would change accordingly. It looks a bit silly when I wear the ugly blue scientist suit and my sleeves are still camo. Secondly wouldn't it be cool to have some kind of camera in the game? Ok ok, it is easy enough to take screenshots but shooting landscapes (with a camera ;) )would be nice little extra thing to do in the wilderness. Naturally there wouldn't be any HUD elements visiable in the pics.
