Habanero's aren't SO bad... they're hot as fuck, to be sure, but a scotch bonnet, jesus. Those things are beyond insanely hot and straying into the realm of chemical weaponry.

Habaneros are widely considered to have the same heat as Scotch Bonnets. The flavour is different, though.
I'd eat a Habanero or Scotch Bonnet for £1000. I could really use the money right now.
In fact, I'd probably go as low as £800.

I'd eat a guatemalan insanity pepper for a hundred bucks.
Can't be worse than a night on Bundy.

It's not a question of "widely considered" so much as a question of Scoville Units.
That said, while it is possible to get a Scotch Bonnet that's roughly 2.5x more powerful than a Habanero, you can also get a Habanero that's 3x more powerful than a Scotch Bonnet. Habaneros range beween around 100,000 and 300,000 Scoville, while Scotch Bonnets ring in between 100,000 and 250,000.
I just know which one I'd be happier finding in my sandwich. Maybe we get Habaneros from the low end of the scale around here, I don't know.

What? I'd eat a Scotch Bonnet for £500. Heck, £200 in reality, probably £50. But if you're paying me I'll take the most you'll give me. You get some really nasty ones at a market I know. I'm talking an apple pip sized piece causing most people to pant and sweat, and that's without seeds. I'd still eat one. As long as you're allowed to drink milk afterwards you'd be fine.
There was only one Fear Factor eating task I saw that made me think :eww: The others are pretty ill but I reckon I could do them. For me it's "climb in a tank of sea lice" things that I wouldn't be able to take. I saw a clip from Endurance where they had to lie in tanks with frogs or snakes or whatever, but this one bucket of stuff has some freaky Far Eastern amphians that were so vile the guy freaked out as soon as they were tipped in. Wish I could find it.

I'd break into Hey Joe during the Cadenza of my concerto in the final of that competition for a cool £10,000 probably. Live on national telly. You know it'd be worth it, I'm setting up a paypal donation account as I type....

Do it, spread the word. They will come. They will.
