Apparently a project is under way (not the one that was cancelled) to remake underworld 2. Is this simply so the game will run on new computers, or will there be other extra features to look forward to, e.g improved graphics, verbal speech for dialogues, and possibly differences in monsters, and skills learnt.

I take it either no-one knows, or there aren't enough people who visit the site anymore to respond
I'm off to carry on talking to myself.

How about a couple of links for people who don't even know what Underworld 2 is?

I guess it would have helped if you'd told us which project you were referring to? "Labyrinth of Worlds" is the UW2 remake that springs to mind, but it's hard to know whether you're referring to that or something new?
An easy search of this forum would have helped you out -- just go to the bottom right of the contents page for this forum and enter "remake" into the "search this forum" box.
Right near the top of the results, I see an obvious hit from twisty, including a link to the site. The most recent couple of entries on the news page -- discussing technology changes -- will answer some of your questions, I believe.
I suspect it's highly unlikely that any remake will add voices where none previously existed. Even the vast majority of professionally-developed games are notorious for having barely-adequate voice acting at best. Precious few ever have genuinely good acting. Given that remakes do not have a budget for hiring actors, let alone studio time and people who know how to work with the actors to get the best out of them... Well, let's just say that the chances of such an endeavour being anything more than an exercise in futility are next to nothing :/ Best stick to the original text -- the voice in your head will still work fine, and as an added extra, it won't even add anything to the download :)

Hemebond:
(

(as linked to on the TTLG home page under "Underworld Series". It's also at the top of this and every TTLG page, but the name "Stygian Abyss" won't mean anything to people not already familar with Ultima Underworld.)
Actually, the TTLG home page links to the Abyss' "Ultima UW Chamber", but the "Underworld" left-hand menu options on the home page (linked above) provide more information for people new to the game.
The articles page may be especially interesting.
Question: Should we have a sticky link in this forum to Stygian Abyss for newcomers?
In the past, if you were here then you generally already knew what the Underworld games were. I guess Arx will have brought us a few strangers to those games. AFAIR, this is the first time anyone has actually asked, so I'm not sure it's all that necessary, but it could be a good thing to have regardless.

Tell the webmaster of (
http://www.stygianabyss.com/) StygianAbyss they have a few dead links, like the UW gallery.

That's because I restructured my site a WHILE ago, and they didn't notice ;)
The proper URL is
(
http://zerker.ttlg.com/gallery.asp?Gallery=1)
And this consists of all the artwork found in the Ultima Underworld 2 clue book
