I'm so confused. Got to that point in the Fighters Guild where you take sides w/the Nord in Vivec or the Imperial guy in Ald 'ruhn. Chose the latter route.
First time thru, I guess I must have landed the 1st blow, cuz even tho she was in red/atack mode, my crime was reported, which I could have lived w/'cept they confiscated my GoldBrand! (HTH can that weapon ever be considered a stolen item?) Was immediately busted as I exited the F'sG @ the 2nd story landing & had not pilfered her remains.
Take 2. Let her land the 1st blow. Even unloaded my shield to make sure I got hit. Then proceeded to pilfer her person. This time, made it all the way back to Ald 'ruhn but got popped as soon as I exited the Mages Guild to cross over to the F'sG.
Somehow, was taken care of w/an apology to PM & all's well.
Two questions: what was the 'correct' way to have done this? Don't strike 1st/don't block/get hit first/don't pilfer the corpse? & does that mean it's a crime to pilfer the bodies laying in Vivec? Just let 'em lay there? Forever? TIA.
PS, Getting to the top of this guild doesn't do jack for one' rep. That doesn't seem right. Is this also the case w/all the other guilds/houses & only the main story line stuff raises one' rep?

well i cant really help you...never happened to me, but the reputation... the main story line raises it the most...but before i even started thestory line i had a rep of 14...now its 30 so yea.... mages guild raises it...so does imperial legion and theives guild..

jstnomega: Hmm.. I assume you're referring to Eydis Fire-Eye when you say 'she'? She attacks you in a rather unusual manner in that she's forced to attack but isn't also set to be hostile to you. As far as what you did wrong, that'd be 'nothing'; this is likely a fun quirk the developers engineered to make her guildhouse come to her aid.
As to how to do it legally? I found a few ways of killing her w/out a bounty; everything from a calm & frenzy that made her the aggressor, legally speaking, to using a 'command humanoid' on her to lead her out of the guildhouse and then letting her chase me outside of town :ebil:. The best trick I found though was simple... enter via the lower entrance door, get close enough so she attacks, and then jaunt down the two sets of stairs and along the hallway until you're out of eyesight. Noone reports a crime then. ;)

Forsythe, TY. Yes. Twas she. Proving only I'm not crafty enough to play this game well. Would that I could say I was just rp'g my RedGd char' low intelligence when, in fact, it's MY low intelligence preventing my char fr getting smarter. Maybe I shoulda palyed as an Orc.

hmmmmm if i remember right she attacked me yelling something about 'word on the street is you've come to kill me.......' i smacked her down in front of the two fighters downstairs.. they didn't even blink...
so i dunno...
