What do I do with all the money I've got (about 13000)? My strength is only 9 (maybe I'll increase it to 10 the next time I level up) so I can't buy any new weapons or armor. And I've got enough potions or nobody sells the potions I want.
The trading in Arx sucks somewhat. Especially that the chests of the traders get full. And I never saw anything new appear to a traders chest (except the things I've sold 'em). And speaking of that, things like plants and gems and metal should also regenerate. I think that should be expected from an RPG like Arx.

Weapons and armor seem to be the biggest things to buy in Arx. I can't think of anything else that you could do with all of that money.

okay, I've got a reverse question... who can I sell gems, jewelry and weapons to?

Gems/Jewelry: <s>Aengoth</s> The Jewler
Weapons: The Smith

I for one gathered around 60,000 gold. I left the game without finding anything to spend it on. I found that a shortcoming of the game is that if you only upgrade your armour/weapons a couple times throughout and you sell everything you find (and yes just about everything you can pick up can be sold to someone), you don't have much use for that money.:erg:
Try reversing the normal transactions with merchants, MsLedd.:cheeky: Move your goods to their chests and you'll hear money being put into you purse so to speak. Hold your cursor over items in your inventory while having a chest of said merchants open and you should see a number. This is the price it's worth in the condition it's in. If the number is green, you can sell to that merchant. Red means not interested so you need to find someone who deals with that item.

ahhh I see, well I haven't met/seen either yet (jeweler or smith) so I guess I'll have to wait. Unless I missed them both (entirely possible... I spend a lot of time running around lost and retarded in this game ;)) where are they?
The merchants I have encountered thus far will not take gems/jewelry or weapons (the prices are in red and the items will not drop into their chests)

So, you must be pretty early on in the game to not know of many merchants. I assumed you were more familiar with the game.

They're both in the city of Arx. The jeweler is next to the Crypt, across the street from Maria's, and the smith is on the opposite side of the city as the castle. Follow the clanging of the anvil.
(They're both on the little map that came with the game.)

I'm quite close to the end of the game and I'm very disappointed with the rarity of cool sh*t to buy / sell. It was all very basic.
Take for example BG2, I'd go on a quest for maybe 10 playing hours to a place over the hills and far away. Then I'd come back with all my party beaten to hell and all laiden down with treasure beyond the dreams of avarice. Most of them would be unidentified, having used up all my ID spells / scrolls.
One of the great parts of the game was coming across truly cool weapons, items, etc. and you even get a backstory for them. Many had unusual powers, the only special weapon I found was some vampire's sword which has some kind of life drain (never used it though).
The game is cool, but it could have been epic. Flaming swords, crossbows that fire magic missles, holy hand grenades, the potential was enormous but all the weapons were basically the same.
Bloody hell I rambled on a lot didn't I? And you all probably hate me because I spoke ill of Arx. So I'll stop now.
Theres a couple of guys who sell a lot of shit on level 4 or 5 I think, the level where some trolls and goblins are fighting and not much else is going on there. Somewhere around the west I think.

Nah, we'll just kill you in your sleep! :ebil: :joke: :sly:
I don't have a problem if you don't like the game, or want to point out flaws in it. I start to have a problem when people feel the need to insult the people that make the game...
