Man, it really came together in Episode 5!

Yeah, count me among those who find this kind of humor better when it's unintentional.
Scots Taffer on 13/6/2008 at 01:36
I'm perfectly happy with putting you in the party pooper corner.
Stitch on 13/6/2008 at 01:40
No, did you see the mugging the guy did when he found the body? Boy, that was really funny!
Scots Taffer on 13/6/2008 at 01:50
So one scene that's deliberately overacted for comedy effect ruins the comedy in the entire thing for you? Jeez. I thought I was cold hearted and hard to impress. If you'd ever seen a flick made in that era, they are usually horrifically overacted with mugging like that NOT done for comedy effect. :(

"It seems you know your Jack Black."
YouTube really brings home the fact that 30,000 people thought of it before you did. :(

Dear Scots,
I never would have discovered youtube or much of the ZANY content on the webs if it wasn't for ur great post-a-vid threads.

That's my point. How difficult is it to ape classic so-bad-it's-good cinema? Why even watch modern attempts to faithfully replicate the unintentional humor of old Italian films when you can just go back and enjoy the source?
It's not even a purity stance, as had they tried to achieve the illusion of sincerity it would have all worked, but instead they shoot us self-satisfied winks to let us know that yep,
they're in on the joke, too. That isn't how this sort of humor works.
Also: it's not called being "cold hearted and hard to impress" as much as just not finding it funny, dude. Find your lost shit and we'll talk.
Also also: ignore Vernon, this forum needs more people posting cool finds, not less.

Since I don't
see your second point as being self-evident I guess it renders my issue with your first point moot, but honestly I don't see this as being so ridiculously OH LOOK WE'RE APING THIS SHIT HOW GOOD IS THIS, I just see it as being ridiculous (just like the original material) good natured humour.
I was already ignoring Vernon as it's been a long while since I've done on of these and even if it generates a little discussion attacking it then my brief work here is done. Also if one person enjoys Italian Spiderman with me then it makes me a little chirpier. :D

Exactly. This is ridiculous humour more than its a parody. The bit where he makes a chicken lay cigarettes by staring at it, for instance.
