So today I finally decided that I was going to start on a project I've been wanting to do forever but never had the time, motivation, or skill (still missing that third part). I'm going to recreate the Kirkbride building at Danvers State (go to (
http://www.danversstateinsaneasylum.com/home.html) for more info). Obviously it's a long and complicated project, so I'll probably be working on it for at least a year. It's been so long since I used the editor that I needed to refresh my memory on installation, so I headed over to the wiki page, where I was greeted by (
http://www.ttlg.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installing_T3ed) this crap.
I just took a whole bunch of percocet and valium, so I made sure I was in the right place and not some alternate reality. Sadly, reality does in fact suck and it looks like the page has been vandalized or something.
Could someone try to revert the page back to a version that contains actual T3Ed content and not a bunch of links to horse-on-tortoise-on-alien porn or whatever that stuff is? I have no idea how to work wiki-based pages, and I've been out of the loop for a while anyway.
Oh, and a side note: where is Jordan Thomas working now?

Jordan just wrapped up work as a designer on BioShock. No idea what his next gig will be.

Our Darkmod Wiki had the same problem a few months back, which led us to disabling the editing rights for the public. Even that lasted only for a few weeks, as we're currently being spammed again by some chinese bots which sign up automatically to unload their crap. We're probably going to set up account approval and editing rights for a distinct set of people only - you'll probably have to do the same, unless you alter the mediawiki account registration mechanics.
It was probably only a question of time until all the wikis would be spammed. In fact one could be surprised this didn't happen earlier.

I've fixed that page, but all of you should be able to do the same with spammed pages. Go into the history, select the last good version, edit and then save to make it the current version.

Yeah, of course, but there are probably a lot of pages you may not have noticed yet, and it's still annyoing for people who don't expect this or dont know how WIKIs work. :(
I hate spammers!

That's the thing you see, any wiki with a fairly big exposure relies on enough users to keep things clean and tidy. The only way round it in the long term is to implement one of those bot-defeating code images.
[edit]I've just quickly put in the SpamBlacklist extension that should block a lot of this crap, I just have to add some domains from recent spamming edits.
