Looks like 710 is a much worse card for gaming. I'd at least consider something like the GDDR5 version of GT 1030.
Ah thanks for pointing that out. I'm a GPU novice, and thought that the higher the model number, the more power. Plus 710 is also 2 GB, so I figured they were equivalent

My previous video card (XFX RX 580 GTS w/8GB) that I paid $249 for in Oct 2018 is $699 on Amazon today, it was *only* $599 a few days ago. I still use it in my 'entertainment' pc driving a TCL 55" Roku 4k as a monitor, but in my main desktop I have a Sapphire RX 5700 (not XT) that I bought for $339 in Dec 2019, which is now 'unavailable' on Amazon but Newegg has a used one listed for $1147. So it's just insane with video cards nowadays, and I've seen nothing like it building my own pcs since the 1990s.
Most other components aren't anywhere as bad in price and seem a lot more available. Just bought a new MSI B550 Tomahawk Gaming mobo for $149 and a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU for $279 for the main pc with the existing RX 5700 & 32GB of 3600 RAM, so I should be okay for awhile. :ebil:

I was able to buy a GT 1030 for $140 Canadian, which is pretty reasonable.
Looks like printers are also spiking. I bought my Brother MFCJ690DW on Amazon for $100. Last I checked, it was going for over 600 (same seller)

Even though the demand seems to have let up a little, looks like prices are being kept high by the continuing component shortages, high logistics costs, and crypto increasing in value.
