As someone who lives in the European Union I don't understand why people bring up factors such as race, gender etc into these conversations when discussing global events.
Americans are trying to foist their ludicrous culture war on the rest of the world. You're obliged to rigorously adopt 100% of one side's arguments, even the faith-based ones (scrap that:
especially the faith-based ones), or you're ostracised as an enemy. I've seen it with American relatives, and I've seen it on here.

It's kind of hard not to bring up ethnic cleansing in the context of forced abortions because that and the sex trade are mainly responsible for it.
Forced IUDs, forced abortions, and even sterilization are actual things that have been commonplace in China, North Korea, and everywhere there are sex workers. Under Xi, the Chinese government is using forced methods to drive down the reproduction rate of Uighurs, at the same time they promote larger families for Han. It's hugely controversial worldwide, maybe you've heard of it.

It's ridiculous, there is no chance of these human rights abuses happening here because 1. no one wants them 2. our bureaucratic processes are so thick that nothing could ever get through to banning abortions and the like. Yet I've seen Americans (while talking about their country) saying, "they could be after you next" referring to my sexuality. It makes discussing politics pointless.

Yes I've heard of the Uighur's, I dont have much to add though because I can't defend something I fundamentally disagree with.

Totally random guess, are you a white cis male individual? Because your privilege is showing. Gender and race are very much factors in Europe too, albeit I'll grant that not in the same way as in the USA, but pretending we just have class divides over here is deluded at best. Educate yourself, please.

Transfemme. Even with that I still believe it's what people use as a deflector in arguments, a way they can shut down any change. Because as America has shown, it works.
Your post shows how black and white your world view is, that is what requires education.

lets all be a little less reactive and a bit more inclusive, for the sake of (insert religious pronoun). Why so divisive, it never used to be like this in comm chat.

I remember the good old days. We were so young, and so excited about Looking Glass titles.
PigLick on 15/11/2022 at 11:47
you know for a brief moment i read that as "Looking Glass titties", which in a moment of absolute non-inclusiveness I am down for.
