Even cheating is not enough to get to the Rick in a few minutes.
Sure. Zombie's level selector. Getto any point in the game in only a few minutes time.

What games do you enjoy playing for long periods without getting bored?
Games like Doom 3 I bet. ;)

It was actually (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1653726#post1653726) this comment by ZylonBane that made me realise what it is I like most about System Shock 2. The world/environment generally does feel
alive to me; and it doesn't act like it exists just for me. Unlike, for example, Doom 3, the creatures are all moving around and doing things. I'm just sneaking or slowly making my way through the world, trying to survive.
Of course, many people who play it, my friends included, just play it like any other game. It is just a game to them. A level to complete. A score to beat.

I play it like a strategy game. I play my skill ascension to outwit and outperform the enemy. It's not particularly hard to do, but trying it in ways you're not particularly experienced with adds a bit of challenge.

I must admit that, when i played ss2 for the first time i got confused too and didn´t continue playing - but after a few days it got me again and ever since.Maybe the attention span and/or the patience of our youth today is not the most distinctive. :joke:

What made SS2 a great game to me was huddling in a corner of the cargo bays afraid to move because I could hear a monkey, a hybrid, AND a security bot and being convinced that they were just around the corner waiting to kill me.

Play the game at night, in the dark, in an empty house and with headphones...
Then try and sleep for about a week after.

Oh god no, not with headphones, I did that with Arx Fatalis, and every time I turned back to see from where came that little noise behind me.
The crypts in Arx made the same effect on me (4-5AM).

I'm not understanding what you guys are talking about; headphones make the game scarier?
I have played SS2 way too many times. :p
