I've driven in the rain for half a day and nothing has gone right. For the millienth time I wonder why the hell I do this job. My wife calls and tells me somebody wants to talk to me.
Aubrey- Papaw!
Me- Aubrey!
Aubrey- Papaw!
Me- Aubrey!
Aubrey- Papaw!
Me- Aubrey!
Aubrey-beep boop beep beep
Me- Who are you calling sweetheart?
Aubrey- Papaw!
Me- Well, you got me.
Aubrey- Bye!
Me- Bye darlin.
My wife- She brought the phone to me and said your name, I know you are busy but I couldn't say no.
Me- That's quite alright. It made my day.
Aubrey is 2.
Aww... yes, that is really sweet. Something about family & loved ones can really be touching like nothing else.

Today I went to see my aunt, and it made me happy that she's still in good health and spirit - she's 81 years old. We had blueberry pie, coffee and hours of talking of everything under the sun :)
And a smaller, somewhat vain little happiness: I bought 2 Desigual skirts... But they're soooo pretty!! :cheeky:

I remember going to see my great aunt before she passed, fixing her roof and stuff, afterwards we would sit down to eat a good country meal and she would tell me all the old time dirt in the family. Aunts know the good stuff.

http://imageshack.us/a/img89/2182/20120921105948.jpgMy daughter sent me her latest painting on my cell today. "Saint Nick". She told me the style it was done in but I'm damned if I can remember those things. It's the pic I used to use for my profile. My fourth grade fat lip. She says it isn't finished. I think she got it. And yeah, I'm bragging on my kid.
The "saint" part made me laugh.

Awesome painting, Tocky! Or should I say St. Tocky :D
Mudd is adorable :joke:
I'm happy I got a grant from a foundation. Not big, but it'll keep me working for about 3 months :) Also it's been a great day, lazy rainy sunday, reading and napping and bit of outdoors and yummy Chinese takeout (I could never make such delicious tofu curry myself). Now it's getting dark so I lit some candles, they give such serene and beautiful light.

I like this thread! And that's a fun video, Dia, reminds me of (
http://youtu.be/c8xJtH6UcQY) this but yours is even better.
So, I'm still feeling happy from yesterday (I hope that still counts! :p) because I got to watch my favourite football (soccer) team for the first time in
ages. I wasn't expecting much from the game, my favourites hadn't been playing very well lately, and this time they had an away match against a better team... but against all expectations my team went on to win 5-0 after an absolutely magnificent display, and it turned out to be their biggest victory during this millennium!
\:D/ It's funny how a game of football can make you feel sometimes... I can't wait to gloat about this at work tomorrow. :p
