Going visiting today to meet two little 3 month old angels - my sister's twin granddaughters. I LOVE babies! Especially when you can go visit them for awhile, hold & cuddle them, then when they start getting fussy, give them back to their rightful owners & smile happily and then leave. Never fails to give me the warm/fuzzies.

Having dinner out in the woods made me happy today: It was so calm and the city for once felt so far away. All I could hear was the sound of trees swaying in the wind. When I got out of the woods, a flock of sheep very slowly came towards me, stopping to drink from a nearby spring, eating grass, grating the saltlick ("as pastoral as pastoral gets"). At that particular moment, that was all that ever existed.

This sounds almost perfect. Needs more squirrels.

Ooh, qolelis, you've had a wonderful dinner! :D
I'm probably bit of a heretic to say this, but autumn makes me happy (even more than summer). The cool, fresh days with clear sky and yellow leaves bright in sunlight, and stormy rainy days when you can walk in the woods for hours and don't see a soul anywhere. Also the cloudy quiet days when the air is so still and mist floats among the trees. Ah!

Got back home from a lousy month in England and now cuddling with my wife while listening to bossa nova and drinking a glass of cab.

You know what makes me happy? That I have no more of the "Crossed" comics (started by Garth Ennis and continued mostly by David Lapham) left to read until I get my hands on Badlands #13 or the next webcomic, whichever comes first. Honestly, I think I'd prefer the feral and animalistic zombies or infected of 28 Days Later or Left 4 Dead or Romero -- at least those guys won't rape you to death and wear your ass for a hat just for shits and giggles then run your corpse through a wood chipper along with the 4th graders so they can take a bath.
Jesus this thing is an endurance test, particularly the third volume ("Psychopath.") It's so... difficult to read, it's probably scarred me for life, yet I'm compelled to keep going. I know Ennis has a penchant for gore and other unsavory things (and David Lapham keeps cranking it up several notches) but this really takes the cake. And fucks it. And uses the candles to put someone's eyes out. Then stuffs the cake down their throat.
The webcomic (by Si Spurrier) begins with one of the infected fucking a dolphin in the blowhole and screaming for his mother. "Fuck knows how he got the bloody dolphin -- you learn not to wonder." And that's toned down from the Lapham-penned "Psychopath."
Gah.
Just... gah.

I discovered that fennel is an excellent ingredient when making food.
