A feel-good thread just for the heck of it.
After 5 days of indoors I went biking today, only about 10 kms at sunday speed, but felt sooo good! It had recently rained and the air was fresh, light, easy to breathe, with the foresty scent of early autumn. Happy! :)
Funny you mention that, after my morning plans got totally destroyed, I spontaneously jumped on my bike and unexpectedly ended up biking 25 miles over 3 hours all over LA. Granted it was like 100 degrees, but coming back, taking a shower, and a nap, then just relaxing at my comp felt... eternally blissful.
Then I figured I'd let myself completly gorge out at my nearby Souplantation with lots of deliscous salad, soup and mind-blowing fudge an blueberry muffins. I was so hyped up I ended up pulling an extra 8 miles on my bike on the way back.
sure I probably got a mild heatstroke and will be sore as hell tomorrow but... I felt quite accomplished and satiated :p

Imagining a truck running over the legs of whoever decided we can't transfer Steam Greenlight submissions to another account.
That and my internet speed getting jacked up by 60% or so somehow.

I woke up breathing!
Lets hope your luck continues :D
Argh, now I'm craving donuts and/or fudge... But fresh coffee with toast & orange marmalade is yum, too :)
Lucky you, dethy! We're supposed to have 40 Mb speed, but keeps hiccuping :erg:
Edit: Except RIGHT NOW Morbus figured out the problem, and we're back on the fast lane :D

Well there was tension in the air from yesterday (cf another thread) but today my students wanted to play a game, so that was sort of a refresher I guess. The only thing was it was the stupidest game ever haha. I'm sure the guy botched the rules somewhere.
There were 5 roles (written on cards you picked from a hat): a judge, homesteader, police, thief, & robber, but the judge, homesteader & police showed their roles at the start, thief & robber are secret. The homesteader told the judge what happened (my bike was stolen!) the judge decides if it was a "robbery" or "thief", then the police picks the right guy (robber if it's a robbery, thief if it's a theft). If he gets it right, he gets some points and the one picked gets 0 points (vice versa if he gets it wrong). Everyone else gets points just based on the card they picked (Judge gets automatic 100 pts, homesteader 80, police 60, robber 40, thief 20). And I'm thinking -- seriously? You know who the two "secret" people are at the start, so it's a coin flip. That's the whole game. But apparently the students got a huge kick out of it anyway, and would cheer when they got it right.
I thought the game should at least involve some deception & real uncertainty where people could lie about who they are and the judge has to decide whom to trust. So I always lied about my role to throw a wrench into it, which really screwed up the whole game for them & made me smile inside, at least until they kept just showing their cards to thwart my plans. (99). Well it was worth a shot. In semi-cool news, more often than not I picked the role of the Thief.

That's sweet, dema :D
I'm happy to take my "goddog" (I'm his "godmother" ;) ) for a walk today! He's a totally silly, forever-puppyish cockerspaniel, but such a darling :)

You should teach them to play Werewolf dema. That'll learn 'em. I bet they find it more exciting too, because it is!

I told them it reminds me of the Wolf game, and they said they already knew it. Actually we called it Mafia, but whatever I think it's the same. Most people are villagers in a circle, they "sleep", 2 werewolves come out & pick somebody to eat, two watchers pick who they think is a werewolf & the judge says yes or no, then everybody wakes up, a poor villager is eaten, & they vote who to jail as the werewolf. Villagers win if they get both werewolves. Werewolves win if they get all the villagers. I think it was something like that, right? Yeah, now that's a damn game! Werewolves lying through their teeth pretending to be the watchmen to arrest the real watchmen... Maybe we'll do that one next time.

There's also (
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3955/bang) BANG!, which is in a similar vein, only with like..upgrade cards and stuff. And it's fun, right up until your sheriff shoots you by mistake (again).

Yes, though we're talking about a game good for 27 people here. (BTW my college roommate's sister's husband runs that site, BGG).
