Technically not today, as it happened on Sunday, but I helped a friend with moving into his new place. Busy afternoon that day but it was fun. Got to meet his girlfriend, and after finishing, we rewarded ourselves with some pizza and watching Idiocracy.

Actually, the fact that the elections are over and our favorite TV programs won't be preempted by yet another speech or debate. Back to business as usual.

I saw a job ad today from a part of my city that I swear is inbred describe their business as "a local retailer for local people". I spent ten minutes paralysed in vindicated laughter.

I finished Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe today. Even though it's more than a decade out of date now, it deserves its reputation as one of the best popular science books on string theory out there. Anytime I feel like I have some new understanding of the world, it makes me feel happy. I wish there was a book like it published more recently.

I can thoroughly recommend "The Tell Tale Mind" by VS Ramachandran. Obviously not physics, but a brilliant study of the workings of the human brain which I think is the perfect accompaniment to the understanding of a priori universal matter, attempted by theoretical physics.
