I agree about getting too strong too fast.
I enchanted the best shirt, pants, skirt, amulet, belt, 2 rings, and robe with as much "Constant Effect: Fortify Strength" as they could hold, and beefed my guy up to around 270 in Strength.
I was able to enchant a Daedric Longsword to deal 75 Fire Damage on strike. With that kind of damage, you're able to kill Daedra Lords and Daedroths and Atronochs and most humans in one or two hits.
I kept hearing about how the trek up Red Mountain will involve advancing-and-retreating-and-skulking-about type behavior, but you can just march your way up and in, slaying boogie-men left and right as they flail their limp, boney, girl-arms at you without even breaking a sweat.
The game is so easy to manipulate, I was able to make a series of "Fortify Alchemy" spells to temporarily raise my Alchemy skill it to 5700 and make potions for Levitate at 950 points for 4000 seconds (NOT EXAGGERATING) and Restore Health potions at 300 points for 3000 seconds.
I had to make a few weak "Fortify Restoration" spells that would enable to me cast stronger "Fortify Restoration" spells. Once I got my Restoration up high enough, I started casting my series of "Fortify Alchemy by 800 points" spells. The first was for 28 seconds, then 24, 20... all the way to 4 seconds. Then all you do is bring up your inventory and start a-mixin.
It made the game too damn easy. Although if you look at it, your're not technically cheating. You're just using the natural elements of the game. Or something.

I got my strength to 327 ^.^
I think what Tuco was saying was that if you don't want it to be easy... don't do what you did. Don't enchant things, don't exploit the alchemy stuff. And don't train to gain levels quickly. Then you'll get an extra buttload of hours out of the game.

My one and only character, Wood Elf, is at level 47, and she still gets her ass kicked in Bloodmoon sometimes. Mainly when about 5 Raiders gang up on me-they do a lot of damage, and if I try to hit them with powerful spells, it just gets reflected back at me. I had similar trouble dealing with Almalexia at the end of Tribunal.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong (or right), but the "invincible kill everything in 3 seconds there's no challenge any more" character that people talk about is not my experience at all. Admittedly I've never made the slightest attempt to exploit the system in any way, either by using enchantments or attribute upgrades.

I had a Dunmer Fighter/mage/thief, at level 49 he was more than a match for anything.
After about level 20 I had no preblem in any of the expansion packs.

Level 76 Nord. He started off as a Thief/Archer/Rogue type, but now he's 100% in all categories except Armorer. 100 in all traits, except 98 Luck. 777 strength (with a lot of Constant Effect Fortify Strength daedric armor). 3 million in cash, with about 5 million in armor and weapons back at the homestead.
I really need to start a new character. After about level 30 the game is just an exercise in collecting money that you can never spend. When's TES4 coming out again? :)

I pushed one of my characters to level 45 once, but as many others have noted, it was boring. I have that one running around killing every AI on the island now.
My favourite character now is one I have created to stay low in level - I chose for major and minor skills the ones I will use the least, and therefor the character goes up in levels very slowly. That makes the game more fun for me, especially as I have this guy running around the island collecting the most powerful artifacts in the game - so he's both lowly level 4 yet powerful in his uber-gear. It makes the game fun again.
Daggerfall was more logical in it's level progression. It took a lot longer, and at those first levels, you were desperate to go up... so that a zombie wouldn't smush you with one meaty swing! No matter how far you went, an ancient lich was something to be feared... there's not much in Morrowind that makes me sweat.
