I don't have to imagine, I'm a sound designer in the process of doing it. You will get your wish if we can make this work, and if we can figure out how to distribute such a large (size) mod.
It will be a bit since we just got started on this.

the pieces just keep falling into place, since Deus Ex means something like "From God" :)
(uups. that post is from January, hehe.)

I just noticed the January date, myself! I love the way old threads never really die on this forum :)
"Deus Ex" means "A god from..." that is, it's an unfinished sentence. The full phrase is "Deus Ex Machina" meaning "A God from a Machine" It refers to an actor, playing the part of a god, who is lowered with a crane in old Greek plays. (Yes, the Greeks had all kinds of special effects for their plays, including fire, etc.) This "god" would then explain or determine the outcome of the play. Even though the term itself dates much later than Greek plays, that's what it refers to.
The term has come to mean someone or something that appears as divine intervention to solve a situation. There's actually a pretty good definition of all this right on the box. That's cool, because I'm not sure if they teach this in school any more. (I'm an old fogey.)
The pun in the game is obvious - a god from a machine - a god from a computer, a god from Denton (if you choose that ending) who is partly a machine, etc. The conversation with Morpheus (where my sig comes from) is relevant to all this. He says, "You will have your god, and you will make it with your own hands."

As cool as Deus Ex was in every other regard, I thought that the closing sequences all were attenuated and sucky. Where was the great closing cutscene for each permutation of the ending, huh? Ion storm did a super job with this game with some very minor in-game exceptions. With the continuity of the game itself not requiring large animated cutscenes, did the development team think we didn't want a big payoff at the end or something? Please! I mean, all that work for practically nothing...
Yeah, I know. I'm probably still feeling spoiled from Thief: TDP... ;)

...and if anybody was wondering what my last reply was all about?
It was about not only what it was about but it was also about the initials JC, used in an expletive sort of way.
It's actually what you say when you've played through all the end sequences, and are completely disgusted and scream...JESUS CHRIST!! IS THAT...IT!!!
Yes indeed brothers and sister, I think that JC in the name JC Denton does have some significance in Deus Ex.

Jc is a reference abb to Jesus Christ. And like Jesus had a disciple Paul, so did JC have a brother Paul. Also, in Latin, the words Deus Ex mean God From (some say "God anti" instead like in "Anti Chirst". Christ, Anti-Christ, and a martyr disciple who sacrifices himself for his brother. Sounds like a takeoff from the Bible to me, and I'm not even Christian. Matrix too of course had the same overtones.

It was pretty amusing once, when I "accidentally" shot an Unatco trooper at unatco hq.
He shouted "Jesus Christ, JC!" <IMG SRC="angel.gif" border="0"> :)

I never thought of JC standing for Jesus Christ. I personally don't care to either. Unless they rub it in your face that JC does stand for you know what in the sequel, I'll continue calling my pal JC just that, JC.
