Certainly not in Queensland this year it's not...
We were actually one of the most responsive insurance companies during the disaster. We settled pretty much 95% of our claims within 10 days of the floods clearing. It's pretty easy to assess the situation with a sunken prime mover and just pay the cash.
Sorry to hear the whole wine-making thing didn't pan out... that sounded particularly interesting.

Half way through a PhD in immunology.
Interesting icky fact, my first year was spent primarily working with ex vivo human skin from mastectomy operations.

Currently, I´m employed as an all-rounder in a small family business. I´m a part-time proctologist, facility manager, danger assessment specialist, caterer, play-therapist and special waste treatment manager.
Since I´m a scientist myself, I also volunteered for a long term study on sleep deprivation, 7 months in now.
Work is really great since I´ve got a great co-worker who actually does most of the daily business and lets me take the credit for the final product.

I'm kind of surprised at the low unemployment rate here on TTLG. Is it low? Seems low. Also, this is a good thread in case anyone is ever looking for a job in a new town or something along those lines- instant referral.
I work overnights at a certain national organic and health-food grocery store, that makes obscene amounts of money off rich people. I have a bachelor's degree in physics so I'm not really clear how I ended up in this job, but right now I'm thankful to have one, and to not hate it. I spend the rest of my time playing Javanese music and wondering why I can't find a girlfriend.
