Currently and recently unemployed (not by choice).
And unhappy about it.

I've got the ludicrous job title of "Head of Community Development" for the youth project I'm working on, mainly because my (American) boss thinks it'll impress some people. My daily work consists of website maintenance, database maintenance, relationship maintenance, logistics stuff, having strong opinions on strategic matters, and day-to-day admin.
I also taught a course at Uni from February to May, an introduction to graphic novels aimed at English Literature students. Would definitely love to do some more (academic) teaching, but there aren't all that many opportunities.

Currently a University student getting my music degree with a major in digital audio. I hope to be the Dr.House of sound one day. Next summer I'm taking a road trip to San Diego to meet one of the big names in the digital sound world, Miller Puckette, and probably tour the campus to decide whether or not I'm going to take my Masters there. Apparently there's a program at UCSD where graduate students can teach as an associate professor to the undergrads. If I can swing that I might just draw out my masters for 3 years instead of two, because that would be a sweet job.
Also going to be a full time researcher next semester as I've just won a research scholarship as well.
But in the mean time, I'm working at Home Depot doing freight overnight, mowing lawns at the local exhibition during the day, and working a few hours in the evening at a local shipping company. So my gaming backlog is huge right now and I can't catch up because I work 17 hrs a day. :\

I'm in engineering. I squint at contour plots a lot and think "should it be doing that?" I'm not sure I belong here as the profession is full of terribly serious and focussed people and I have to make an effort not to giggle at the term "rotating orifice".

Used to be in accounting; but currently unemployed. Have to admit that I've been kind of dragging my heels ever since I moved back home though. I'm just having too much fun spending time with my family & friends. The day is rapidly approaching, however, when I'll have to knuckle down and really start seriously job hunting. :/

I'm a consumer products engineer. I design electronics and mechanics for anything and everything; toys, security systems, monitoring devices for machines, r/c flight, micro-AI, etc. I apply science to improve how consumer products are manufactured for cost and innovative earth-friendly efficiency.

I'm an anaesthetist/anaesthesiologist/gasman in training and I can't think of any other medical speciality that I'd be able to do without going insane. Unlike some of my gasmen colleagues I've a lot of other interests though including medical education and particularly technology in anaesthesia/medicine.
I'll tell you all the truth. The hours suck and the pay isn't great, and we're just normal people with a slightly odd job. Everyday I drug people unconscious and stick plastic tubes down their throats or stick needles of one type or another into their spines (and atm that's my absolute favourite thing to do at work because it's somehow so. damn. satisfying).
But apart from that I'm just like everyone else and despite what (some of ) you may think I don't think I'm better than anyone else and I certainly don't have a God complex. Yeah, I sound a little defensive but believe me when I say I've had enough snap judgements made about my ego both online and off as soon as my job is mentioned. Heck, I even get teared up when the iddy biddy babies are born and I'm proud of that, and happy that it happened safely and painlessly because I did my job right.

what is the point of "hyperlocal" games?
Well, the one I linked was specifically to show off art installations in downtown Blooomington, IN. Since the games involve actually going places and doing things, players tend to feel like they're on a legitimate adventure or that they're superspies on a clandestine mission. They're a lot of fun, which is why I got into creating them in the first place.
