what is understanding something anyway. - by jimjack

 I've figured that in classes it would be alot better for students to get invovled in asking questions and actually participating in a lesson. At least it would show if their paying atteintion and askig for clarification. I have teachers in some classes like socials, japanese, eng lit and maths ignore students and talk, talk, talking on and they clearly get pissed off if a question is wanting to be answered. I can understand a stupid one being asked and pissing everyone off, but even for a previous lesson, that seems to get the teacher really irate. They likely seem to see as the student trying to argue, cause trouble or just be a distraction in trying to understand something better. Maybe teachers have reckoned that there is a fine line and its possible to crossover and piss off some parent considering how some debates in classes seem to bring out bigotry and racism that eventually reaches close minded parents.
Talking after school proves that alot of times teachers don't have the time to do that after class and several teachers are not even in a class after a lesson. Anyway discussion and debate can at least let a teacher know how much students understand rather than tossing bloody quizes and tests.
I question the motives of people wanting to become teachers. Its just all about teaching academics. I realize classes number up to thirty students in a class and most of them are disruptive assholes but how do you actually understand what your learning nowadays? And does it actually apply to real lilfe anyway. I'm taking a "sick day" off. School sucks.

Homework sux 2 i just wanna skateboard all day u no :(
Jeshibu on 26/10/2006 at 19:26
I've honestly never really had that happen. At most they'll want to finish the bit they're currently explaining and get to your question in a few minutes.
And yeah, it does apply to real life. Some of it, depending on your future job.
PS this is just a weak excuse to skip school, isn't it

Did I miss the day we handed out cranky juice in CommChat? Unless there's some external jimjack drama-rama I'm unaware of this seems like a perfectly legitimate and commendable, though poorly presented, rant on the lack of healthy discussion in classrooms.
Did everyone sign up to have some dude shit in everyone's cheerios today?
