Hey, as long as you enjoy making it, there'll be someone out there who will enjoy playing it. That's all that matters.

Well, I do enjoy making it, but I don't see the connection with building missions.....

I don't recall having said that The Time That Has Passed is weak, only that it's decent but doesn't hold a candle to both Thieves' Highway and The Power of Suggestion, which is pretty normal considering you improved a lot between these.
Also, the main driving factor for any artistic endeavor should be to make stuff that you like, and in the case of missions, would like to play. Feedback is of course very welcome and one should at least take it into account, but it's not a necessity. Make the things you like man.
(I'm still available to test your mission by the way)

Fair enough, you actually didn't use the term weak, I only meant it as juxtaposed with Samantha's tastes.
I think you're right about just making something you yourself would enjoy playing.
Like Ricky Nelson says:
But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself

I agree you should make missions you like and would want to play. I put a huge amount of loot in my missions and get feedback that it is too much. I understand for some people that is true but I love to find loot in every nook so I put a lot in my missions.
Everyone has a different playing style and differing opinions which is fine. Based on that, some players are going to like your mission(s) and some will not. Which is why you should build what you like and what you want to build.
My last mission was a disaster when originally issued due to some big issues (my fault). I got some negative feedback and the mission was not well received. It convinced me that after 8 missions I was stale and done. Since then I have been playing T2 FM’s and some are brilliant. Recently, I am getting the bug to do another mission. We’ll see.
Ricky Nelson was exactly right. Don’t be so hard on yourself. :)
Just my 2 cents.

Here I gotta agreet too, you should make the missions you enjoy to do! you are the one making the effort and giving sth. to us, so who are we to complain? :cheeky:
But reading the reviews, I see that pretty much everyone loved your mission thieves highway right? And since we are all in agreement with that, you can just make another thieves highway mission and we will all be pleased! :laff:
Nah I´m just kidding, really, make the fanmissions you love to do! ;)

Maybe I should just make whatever the *^@k I make instead and just let people have their opinions rather that worrying about it.
I think you not only should do that but you
need to have that mentality.

I think it's kind of impossible to make an FM that pleases everyone.
During my betatesting I got several opposing feedback from my mission where my testers pointed out the very same thing as either awesome or horrible :cheeky:
I think you should only care about others' feedback until it's rational and fits your design- and/or playstyle.
Personally I liked all of your FMs very much as far as I can recall and always considered you a good FM author
We all have our different taste, expectations and while some players are easily impressed, other players are hard to please and if forming an opinion will criticize unless you can hit exactly their way of gameplay. But most players criticize in a respectful way and point out it's biased by their personal (dis)liking - so take these only as advice if could you do something better or different next time.
Just don't overly rely on others feedback and weigh positive feedback at least as much as negative feedback. In the end, you are the author and as much as I've seen the majority of people who express an opinion gave a positive about most or all of your FMs, so if you feel the energy (and have the freetime) just keep up the good work :thumb:
