Little offtopic. We don't need ddfix or newdark for Thief The Dark Project or Thief Gold? They work and look the same as it was on original hardware?

last few times I've checked newer machines, oldDark T1/TG either runs and looks ok (as far as the low resolutions allow), or crashes on startup and then you are screwed.
basically, messing around with oldDark is not worth it, unless you have a very dedicated retro pc (think p2/3, win98se and a voodoo3/4).

Ye, crash happen because of multicore CPU. *.bat file with 1core limit solves the issue. Awesome, i don't need anything to run Thief DP on i7, Win 10 and nv 1070.

Multicore (even simple hyperthreading on p4) was always a problem. Setting affinity to 1 core always solved crashes.

I think he means that's not the only reason the game can crash.
