What if the 8 ball contradicts my horoscope? What if a fortune cookie brings me good things when my palm promises bad?
I hate to say it, but suddenly the logic behind such things seems, illogical...

It's all about pedigree. Just the opposite of most tech, it's the older versions that are better.
Magic 8 Ball psychic tech goes back to the 70s; horoscope tech back at least 5000 years. So if they contradict, the horoscope should trump.
And fortune cookie tech I believe is relatively recent, although writing fortunes on slips of paper is quite old as a part of Buddhism; the cookie part is something of a vulgarization. Palm reading goes at least back to the post-Rennaisance neo-Platonist occult wave. All in all, I'd say you should go with the palm reading.
How's that for logic...

Similarly to any post containing words with over 3 syllables, it makes my brain hurt.

let me break it down: Pedigree does not exist any more, at least not in the human race. we're so incapable of passing on the good genes that we're nearly as extinct as a dodo.

Am I supposed to post airplane.jpg or something?
The whole point is that somebody for whom it's not enough to say 'the Magic 8-Ball is illogical', he wants to actually point out the logical flaws, is like the guy that points out air punches in wrestling to show everybody how fixed it is.
The best reply is, yeah, but that punch knocked the shit out of him, didn't it...
