I think an easier way to deal with Anna with less fear of accidentally killing her, is to just throw a LAM toward her. AI run away from LAM's so if you throw it in the right place, she'll run straight out the door. I've never actually tried it though, so don't hold me to this.
It's also fun when you watch Simons interrogate the NSF at UNATCO HQ. I threw a LAM and he happened to run out of the prison cell. You can go in and kill the NSF yourself if you want. ^^

Simons tells you more of the same as before. I like this, because it gives you another opportunity to get on his nerves. ;)
I had him commit suicide with this heavy gun there this time... I dunno what happened, I just heard an explosion and his final scream while I was climbing up some stairs. (No, I did not place some LAMs in that area.) :)

Simons' last line, slight cross-over with "the Fifth Element"
(checking GEP gun)-"I wonder what that red button's for...?"

In addition to quiller's list, one other thing that made Deus Ex less stealthy was the fact that anytime you shot at a person, that person and all other people that heard the shot instantly knew exactly where you were. If a bot set off a LAM that you had set up on a wall while you were hiding around the corner (and thus out of the bot's line of sight), it would immediately hunt you down as soon as it set off the LAM (assuming it wasn't destroyed), so there was no chance that you could distract enemies (the way noisemaker arrows did in Thief). I still never even tried to play Deus Ex any way other than stealthily, but the difficulty in knowing how well hidden you were coupled with the above mentioned problem made me much more likely to kill everyone.
Besides, I was killing terrorists. It is one thing when you are just killing bored guards that are trying to make a living (like in Thief), but the hostiles in Deus Ex were terrorists. The NSF was trying to violently overthrow a corrupt government (which makes them terrorists even IF there goals were noble) and the MJ12 were using fear to keep a corrupt government in power (and therefore were also terrorizing the people). So the way I see it, everyone needed to die. And I was just the man for the job. :sly:
I did play a non-lethal game once and I also played a game where I avoid attacking anyone (as best I could anyway), but I never got the satisfaction that I got when I knew I was killing terrorists (I just have one of those personalities). There still is no more fun game than Deus Ex on realistic mode when it comes to hunting bad people and bringing them to their knees.
By the way, from what I have heard, Deus Ex 2 will be a lot more like Thief when it comes to stealth (including the addition of a light gem), so it should be truly spectacular.

Someone's terrorists are someone else's freedom fighters;) Thinking back, I don't think I destroyed bots until in Vanderberg and in Area51. EMPs and Scrambles did the job , if I wasn't able/willing to dodge them otherwise. Flare darts worked for bots as well in distracting them, if my memory serves me well.
The fact that DX2 will be more like Thief in using shadows makes at least me a bit itchy. Sure, it opens new possibilities and makes it imore nteresting, but there's a limit how much you can 'tolerate' Thief kinda hiding and as far as I'm concerned, there definitely were points in Thiefs where I just got frustrated with it. Even there, the light gem sometimes gave you wrong kinda sense of security, since even though the gem was black, the enemies still spotted you, especially the spider mechs. So, hopefully they come up with something definitive when introducing the gem thing on DX . After all, Thief is Thief and DX is DX.

Damn it - all this talk of DX has made me start playing it again (second time thru now). :)After the first plot twist with Paul working for the NSF, you realise that the human troopers in the field are just as much ignorant pawns as you were at first, whether they be 'terrorists' looking for a better life, or 'grunts' just earning their paycheck - I'm avoiding killing the human NSF, MJ12 and so on, but I think the MJ12 commandos, MIB/WIB, and bots will be fair game.
I reckon a stealth indicator or similar device in DX would work well, provided it was based more on specific enemies that you could analyse in your visual field (as per the commandos series, where only one enemies' visual field was evident to the player) rather than having a generic indicator of how stealthy you are with reference to all possible enemies around you. If its implemented as part of your aug system perhaps (and therefore upgradable etc, perhaps allowing you to judge how stealthy you are with regard to more observant enemies, such as bots, augmented commandos etc), it then would be a player's choice, reinforcing the notion of a conscious decision to be stealthy/non-lethal.
First time round I killed Anna and Gunther with their kill-phrase - however, I'm assuming that once Anna or Gunther run off due to low health, they never catch up with you later ?

What changes appear in the game if Paul survives? and if Jock explodes?
(I killed everyone in the hotel, and Paul even talked to me and he said that he would leave NY with the drugs dealer, but I still found him in the morgue so I think that I left by the window)
About the heli thing, well I just killed the mechanic because he was talking me ugly, I found about the bomb later
