Yuppity yup, go get it ASAP. Cheap, too. Personally, I rate DX higher than Thiefs, but thats just my opinion and it doesn't mean at all that Thiefs would be bad or something. Great stuff, both. Then again, it's a bit unfair to even compare these games together, since the gameplay and everything though having some similarities, differ so much from ecah orther that different tactics and thinking are required . I dunno, in Thief you pick up lotsa stuff you may never use, especially if you're being totally stealth/non-lethal and I hate the fact that you've got to spend all the money earned with the next mission. In DX, sure, you have your favourite tools of trade, but practically every item is there for a reason and you can use it. Simply: you develop, acquire, learn and become better and better as the game evolves= story YOU create. Thief is a more of a set of levels, though excellent ones. Anyway, go get it: I sure know I can't wait to get my hands on DX2;)

I am a very observant player so I noticed all these hidden players in my first or second run!
What I think is cool is that the game surprises you in MANY ways even after 10 times!

Just finished this game today (literally an hour ago), and was constantly impressed by this game. After reading through most of the spoiler threads since finishing the game, I've got a question:
I accidently killed Lucius DeBeers, and stupidly saved afterwards (pressed the wrong key!). Does his living/dying have any impact on the rest of the story, other than Morgan Everret being pissed off ?
nope, it's just for fun.
the only things that actually affect the endgame are:
-Saving Paul
-Not letting Jock blow up
as they message you via those hologram thingies to say a few words.

You're never sure in a game like DX if these things are cool little touches (ie, showing that one of the grand old dudes of the illuminati thinks he's still pulling the strings, but is simply being strung along by Everret), or major plot points which will change the game (like the fate of Paul and Jock).
I was stoked the first time I managed to save Paul - man, what an intense battle that was. The 'ton will never be the same again...

That's something that pissed me off in my latest replay (my 3rd time overall). I spent a good amount of time cleaning out the 'Ton with Paul after the MiBs and UNATCO troopers came to kill him, but he still ended up on the mortuary table in the secret MJ12 base. It worked the first time through...

How do you prevent Jock from blowing up? Is it something to do with the mechanic?

a dead mechanic and a mechanic with American accent in the safehouse of the leader of Illuminati? Talk to the odd mechanic first, then return to Morgan Everett for more info; he'll tell you what to do. ;)
I found it the first time I played. :cheeky:
