I also liked Knock At The Cabin and just picked up the book it was based on at the library.
In other news, I can recommend Mike Flanagan's newest mini series The Fall Of The House Of Usher. Go see it if you liked his other stuff like The Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor and Midnight Mass. Carla Gugino is sensational in it and I liked seeing Mark Hamill in a Ripburger (from Full Throttle) type enforcer role.

The ending of The Fall of the House of Usher is beautifully brutal and honest. It's no wonder it was based on a drug company. They took Hendrix, Elvis, Prince, Petty and I'm sure a dozen other rockers from us. They have taken millions of others not so talented. They didn't take away the pain. They took away the people and left us with the pain. What cost for wealth? And in the end who is truly rich?
Thirding this, enjoyed Fall Of the House of Usher and the interesting twists on the Poe stories. Not sure if I preferred it to Midnight Mass but it was good!
EDIT: also just watched Talk to me which I missed at cinemas, it was a cool concept and the beginning especially was effective and quite original, even if it did somewhat end up leaning on some fairly standard horror cliches towards the end. I would recommend.

Just watched Avatar: The Way of Water. What an insanely long movie. I probably wouldn't watch it again but it did hold my attention enough to watch it all the way to the end. If my kid wasn't watching it with me I probably wouldn't have finished it though. Not terrible but not great either.

Same as the first one then, I guess.
Wish Cameron would get back to making proper movies.

Only six movies in history have grossed over $2 billion, and the two Avatars are 1/3 of them.
So I wouldn't bet on that.
For that matter, two Avenger movies are 1/3 of them as well. =L
I want to add something, but I can't even think of anything good I've seen recently.
I watch more YouTube series, podcasts, and game streaming than TV or movies anymore.
Conan O'Bryan's podcast and the Rick Beato interviews are consistently great.

I watched some random documentary on the Great London Fire of 1666. Then spent far too much time trying to find the spot where it began on Google maps. It was weird too because I was just reading The Boar's Head Tavern, Eastcheap by Washington Irving and that documentary popped up on my suggested watch list. It's really weird because I was reading a printed book and not something easily trackable like a digital copy. Maybe it was just coincidence because I have a lot of British history documentaries saved on my to watch list. Who knows. At any rate, the documentary was interesting enough to watch it all the way through.

Ol' Indy and The Dusty Ol' Dial o' Destiny - The opening bit and the ending were alright. But mostly it's just Harrison Ford and Fleabag trying to act against a lot of CGI nonsense happening around them. Eh. Kinda made me appreciate Kingdom of the Crystal Skull more, honestly.
All the Robocops - Haven't watched these films in ages. 1 is still a stone-cold classic. 2 is kinda more theatrical than the first one, and I think equally well written. 3 I had not seen before. It's a mess, but has some moments. I liked when Robocop drove the pimpmobile. The overall story of a neighbourhood being demolished by OCP to build Delta City is ok. But the ending with the ninjas and the jetpack drag the whole thing down a lot. Rewatched the remake as well. It's a decent film, but also so dour and serious compared to the others.

Yeah, it's a gripping crime drama and also a solid meditation on morality, all at once.

Sisu 8.5/10
Frailty 8/10
Killers of the Flower Moon 5/10
Infinity Pool 7/10
Sisu was great, as expected.
Very Disappointed with Killers of flower moon, so fucking dull and disjointed and with awful pacing. It absolutely had it moments but those were way, way too far between. Way too long also.
I was surprised by Frailty, I saw it when it was new (2001), watching it now, it felt so much like an 80's movie, everything from lighting to dialogue, clichés etc. I had to check again that it really was from 2001. Great movie though.

My god, there's a Robocop 3? That can't be good. But I'll still watch it when I get around to watching those again one day.
On the topic of bad sequels, I subjected myself to Weekend at Bernie's 2, purely out of morbid curiosity at how there could even be a sequel. And it was even more ridiculous than expected.
