I never did get the hang of Stilt Fella. A Good One was zero learning curve though.

Just watched Split last weekend and it was pretty good overall, some twists/reveals I could see coming but overall enjoyable. Also watched episode 3 of TLOU and hit me in the heart real good :( But also heartwarming and probably my fav episode so far.

I’m really connecting with the Disney+ limited series Fleishman Is In Trouble. It’s the perfect 40-something single person rethinking his life choices type of show. The second-to-last episode puts a different perspective on things and is heartbreaking to watch. I have one more episode to go and haven’t engaged with something this strongly in a while, not even The Last Of Us.
Also, if you have Disney+, I also recommend The Bear. Fast, gripping show about a restaurant kitchen. Abbott Elementary is also okay, cute and charming but not grabbing me as much as the critics and general audiences, it’s getting great reviews and all kinds of awards. Maybe if you have kids or have experience with the underfunded American school systems you’ll like this better than I do.

Well shit. I guess I'll have to get Disney again. I quit it because I just didn't see much that appealed to me. Anything more engaging than The Last of Us has to be good. The latest episode had me tearing up again. I love a good apocalyptic fight to the death over someone you care for. Unfortunately I've been having zombie and dinosaur fighting dreams again. At least I got a machete last time.

Well, I don't think Fleishman Is In Trouble is necessarily better than The Last Of Us, but the reason it speaks to me strongly it's that it deals with themes that are relevant to me at this point in my life. The main characters are my age, rethinking their life decisions, struggling with their careers, relationships, trying to move on when they're single, their mental health, thinking about what's important in their lives, what they're living for, etc. That's exactly what's also going on in my life right now and that's why it's so engaging to me. To most other people, especially men, Last of Us will be more engaging. Maybe watch a trailer first before committing to a Disney+ subscription.
If you do get Disney+, I recommend also watching The Bear, I think it might be up your alley.

I watched a trailer for Yellowjackets S2 and can't wait for it! I just read a synopsis of S1 on Wikipedia to refresh my memory, but I'm thinking of giving the whole season a re-watch, something I rarely do but I liked S1 that much. I'll see if I get around to it.

Yeah, I enjoyed Yellowjackets too. Great cast, and they pull off the blend of Lost, the 1993 film Alive and a more horror-inflected Lord of the Flies well. I hope they've got an overall idea of what they want to do with the plot, because I could imagine this being ruined by them continuing it past the point where there's much story to tell.

Since Tom Sizemore died I rewatched Heat, and then Red. Red is SO good. Honestly one of my favorite movies/books of all time. Any other fans?

I was confused because I didn't remember Sizemore being in RED the Bruce Willis movie, but then I checked and it's a different movie called “Red” lowercase. :o
Heat is, of course, phenomenal.
Skeptic Intruder on 17/3/2023 at 14:01
Ha, I don't think it's in lowercase? But yeah, and Brian Cox is in both! He was in 2 movies called Red in 2008.
