That looks way better than the dessicated turkey breast I ate yesterday which tasted like sawdust and sucked all the moisture out of my mouth, but I digress.
Last weekend I made vegetarian ramen. My daughter had a friend sleep over, she is vegetarian and her favorite food is ramen. I normally make Tonkotsu ramen and it was a challenge to make a vegetarian broth with similar depth of flavor. I did cheat by adding some powdered gelatin, so not vegan but that was okay. Toppings were miso-glazed carrots, pan-fried corn, sweet mini-peppers, green onions, marinated Shiitake mushrooms, and tare. She loved it and that made me happy.
This weekend I hope to find a bunch of veal bones at one of my local butchers so I can make a demi-glace. I need to make a new batch in time for a Christmas eve roast, but it will last me in the freezer until next summer.
During the week I mostly make the stuff my wife and kids want. My wife always wants some kind of Italian food on Sat night. I also do some kind of tacos every week, some kind of pizza, and usually something Thai. Those are our year-round staples. In the summer, I do more grilling or smoking and my wife makes a lot of salads. In the winter, she makes soups and I make a lot of noodles, braises and the occasional curry, turkey chili, and Buffalo-style chicken wings. I get my choice about once per week and they tolerate me trying to make a lot of different things.
