Yup, same here. My kids lobbied for one last year. It would have made camping convenient enough that we'd do it a lot more often. But my wife and I didn't want to spend that much money on just camping. The other appeal was road trips, but for the cost of the used trailers we were looking at, we could book a two-room hotel suite every night of every trip for the next 5-7 years.

Nice WRX Limited!
I didn't recognize it at first. I haven't seen one of these on the road yet and I almost thought it was a Civic Si at first because of the front end. I like this design for the WRX, it looks more grown up. I'm not sure about the black fenders. I know they are still trying to market it like a rally car, but the looks have evolved into more of a gentleman's road carver. The interior looks like a big upgrade. I'm curious what you think of the road and wind noise. Did they add a little weight to get a quieter ride, or did they continue with the tradition of keeping it more light and raw feeling?

That's a very Jason car. Congrats, looks cooler than any car I've owned. :thumb:

I wouldn't be getting one, but a weird collision of events meant that the year my 15 year old SX-4 is becoming a maintenance nightmare in the same year that the used car market is ridiculous and interest rates are starting to go up. Buying a 5 year old WRX with similar trim/features and 40,000 miles costs basically the same as getting a new one, and I like the new ones more. Better performance all around, looks less like a street racer toy, should have massively improved reliability with the new engine and with it being based on the same platform as all their other vehicles.
It's a Premium without the sunroof/speaker package, which seems to be the sweet spot. I might have gotten a Base trim but I hate cars that have plastic molding for fog lights and don't have them.
Picking it up at 10AM. I have about as much anxiety, I'd imagine, as most people do buying a house, but 6 years ago I didn't even own a car so it's a big purchase for me.

My '03 Jetta has literally been having one problem after another (like, I fix something and the next day something else breaks), so congrats on getting a cool car with a warranty!

Hi rachel, looks like another rally inspiration, congrats.
Aja, I wish you good luck with that. Early 2000s Jettas and Golfs are notorious. My wife had a Jetta GLX VR6 that was a shop queen from day 1. We realized the door seals were improperly installed by the wind whistling through on the drive home from the dealership, and it only got worse from there. It couldn't manage a year without a major repair. It was nice when it worked though. That was a popular generation, so a few of my friends bought them too, but unloaded them right away after the warranty was up. Audis of that vintage tended to be in the shop a lot too.

Nice, Jason! I just got myself a C4:
Oh, wow, that's pretty. I wish Citroen sold cars here.

Only 3 years (man the financing person tried to push addons on me, and I'm like 'do you see what my car payment is going to be? oh right, it's on the sheet in front of you') but better than nothing. I'm scheduled to pay it off in 5, but I'd like to do it in 3 and then if they're still making WRX's and I like this car as much as I think I'm going to (less than 50 miles so far, but it's amazing) I'm going to trade it in for one with more accessories while still slashing my car payment significantly (if not just buying it outright by that point).
I love older cars, but unless you have a garage and the ability to do significant maintenance yourself they become a moneypit fast. I'd love to keep my SX-4, what with it being a slow rally car basically, but with Suzuki leaving the USA 10 years ago it's just impossible to replace all of the sensors that are failing now, and the mechanical repairs are getting exhausting even if I'm only getting minor things done a few times a year. Hopefully even if I'm still driving my WRX in 2037 for some reason, Subaru will still be around and there will be a massive catalog of parts available.
