Ha, I do that all the time. Did that level (lev 9 - The Pit) easily. Try lev 29 for a change (actually, it's not hard at all). Of course, on Ultra Violence. Hey, you can also try lev 28 (never finished it, not that I tryied too hard). And my rules are: at least 100%kills, 100%secrets, as many items as I can (because I played for 100%items but I was often missing some health or armor bonuses so I gave up). Doom can be really fun !

Ya, thats it - the pit!! I don't know how you did that one easily. I've done them all, but that for me is the toughest. I had to get most of the monsters to kill each other to conserve ammo! That rising and falling stair platform - too many flaming skulls. But great fun! What was level 28? Can't remember - was that the one with the moving face wall with an invisible room there somewhere?
And ya - Ultraviolence! - is there any other way to play Doom? The other settings are for keyboarders and newbies

Well yeah, you could play on Nightmare but personally I don't since it's way harder to make 100%secrets...
Level 28 is The Spirit World.

It's impossible to get past that level with the zillion photon spiders (or whatever) with the big "eye" you press on the tower in the middle to end the level. All monsters have to be dead, which is pretty much impossible on nightmare.
Hmm... we may have to add a DOOM forum here : ).

I guess you're talking about Level 7, Death Simple. I think it can be finished, the platform probably requires 100%kills to raise. I'll give it a try one of these days... (Downloading Calendra's Cistern now so I expect to be busy for a while

I found where that lava pit map is. It is at the center top of the level map on a dirt square in the lava channel running along the north side of level 7. It is with a pile of bones and a skull next to a kind of stairway up to the prison area.
