There is no difference between game time & real time. If Shak said it'll take an hour, then an hour it is, by clock, or the difference is minimal anyway.
At least, that's how things work with my game...

And btw, I feel like I need to remind you this:
HAS ANYONE FOUND THE (above-mentioned) MAP YET ?
Especially you guys/gals who are (re-)playing the game at this time.
Thnx.

I think the map is in the northwest part of level 7. North of the prison cells there's a tunnel running east-west. It's somewhere in there.

Money:
I think you're right about the northwest area, but either you're given it by a prisoner or you have to kill something nearby. I'm not sure.

Yes. But you can sleep 8 hours in a second. Thus finishing the game in 45 "real" minutes.
I don't believe it though.
I DID do the entire DOOM Shareware in 29 minutes once.

Hey - are you saying you CAN get into the evil dead area? I didn't think it was possible. How do you do it?
Rygar33 on 30/6/2000 at 15:55
Oh - and in response to the posted question...
If I play too much UW, I find myself examining spiders closely to see if they are "mellow".

Err... you break the door, of course. There is no key. There are three hostile dire ghosts inside.
Say, you're right about sleeping 8 hours in one second - so, you can also get the dragon skin boots really quick. And with these and your knowledge of the secret passages (and places where to cast Reveal, like in lev 7 which can be finished in one minute or so), maybe the game
can be finished in 45 mins...
Btw, I think I can do better at Doom - one of these days I'm gonna try this

Well, the Doom rule was 100% or higher kills, but secrets were optional.
I still find it hard not to go everywhere though, so I'm sure it could get done much faster. Ever look at ID's time score? Sheesh! But I'm sure thats with some monsters left.
Doom is a total blast to play "as per design" - starting each level with 50 bullets, and make it through. Can be a very different game that way. Never did DOOM that way, but lots in DOOM II. Some levels easy, some are insane. Hardest was that one level where you start in a pit with an + shaped island in the middle of the "worst" acid, where there this is blue armour. Lifts tower all around you, and are at different levels. Twice I finished this with one bullet left ! Once, I ran out, and couldn't finish. Fun!
