Having defeated the Machine Mother, he more than likely would have needed to do a reset of the computers OS ( Windows Version 2112, Sp 4.a ) which would have an impact on all the ships functions, FTL drive, radio and love lounge sims units to name a few. With the speed at which the system reboots, various systems coming on line etc., it's more than likely they are using SSD HDD or quantum computing. So, I have to agree with Trance. He pushes the fix everything ( one does it all ) button.
The last part of the cut scene is with Rebeca and Tommy on board the escape pod turning around after receiving the hail from the Von Braun. Unlike Goggles, Tommy doesn't have time to push the "fix everything" button in response to Rebecas new dew.
All is not well however, back in the early part of the 21st century back on EArth, EA pushes the "Stop Franchise" button. :nono:
