Nearly a year into my first programming job.
I work in a team which build the infrastructure that other programmers in the company use to write their applications, so there's lots of arguing about the best programming methodologies, etc ... the arguing is fun. :)

I play Xbox 360 games all day and make sure they work the way that Microsoft says they have to.

I run (or co-run) my own little random tech business. Everything from business networking, onsite computer repair, POS, to CCTV and security setups. From high end businesses to low end mom and pop shops, I've done it and I'll do it. Though admittedly, there's been more low end than high these last few months.
The best thing about it is I don't have to sit in a cramped office all day long, and I get to get to swing from rafters and dive into filthy dirty attics on occasion.
Oh, and I get to chew people out. Always a bonus. :thumb:

Interesting thread. Interesting job Renz. Few people in game dev here too. Cool.
Edit: you know what I do or you don't. I don't like it being "used" against me if I have an opinion on something completely different so I'm deleting it.

I used to lecture Modern English Literature at Uni, which is something I'd still like to go back to one day.
Now I work at the British Council in a small team doing projects that bring young community activists and social entrepreneurs from around the world together, mentoring them and supporting their projects, and bringing them to events such as the World Economic Forum's annual meetings. Fairly cool, except when the organisation's need for high-profile photo ops override everything else, which is when it becomes highly distasteful... :eww:
