I teach theory and history of literature at a high school. I also translate video games (e.g. Thief Anthology) and proofread the texts (e.g. The Witcher) for various publishers.

Did R&D on video and audio coding for several years, now doing some CGI/augmented reality poking as an exchange researcher in Foreign for few months, earning more than ever would in Finland, even with 20+ years of experience - government jobs for lulz.
Oh yea, and daydreaming of getting the hell away from engineering and doing something completely different with my life. When you finally, after years of grinding, realize how many people it takes to make any progress in tech these days, it stops being a fun hobby thing and becomes a 9-to-5 job.

Now, are you an actual pagan or just a Thiefgen reject?

I didn't know it was possible to be rejected from Thief Gen.

[Apologies for minor thread-necromancy, but BA linked here from a ThiefGen thread, thought it would be good to get more replies]
Second year PhD student, modelling GPS satellite orbits to reduce the time-to-first-fix for SmartPhones and the like. Is quite interesting to do the force modelling, not so much fun trying to fit it all onto a PDA :(
Before that, I worked on calibrating the UK's atomic clocks so that GMT actually told the correct time. Quit because there's only so many things that can go wrong with an atomic clock.

Wow, I bought that at Christmas to add to my Thief collection, I didn't realise it wasn't in English! It's still in Shrink-wrap since I use the Sold-Out versions normally.
