Being real here, it's kind of hard for me to say. Even though Garrett is my all time favorite video game character, he's still not what I'd call a good guy. I mean when you get down to basics, this is a guy who clubs people over the head and steals things that other people worked to earn for a living. That being said, perhaps one could make a case that, sometimes, it's okay and even necessary to accept the help of others. In Thief TDP, he never could have stopped the Trickster without the Hammers, in TMA he couldn't have stopped Karras without Viktoria, and in DS he couldn't have stopped Gamall without the information given to him by Artemis. In short, independence is good, but sometimes you need a friend.
That, and never trust an eccentric rich white man otherwise his hot naked girlfriend made of wood will pluck your eye out once they're done with you.

If you even dip your toe into lava/magma, instant death. You won't catch on fire or just lose a limb. No, it's instant death for you. No chance of recovery whatsoever.
