The Night Watch by Terry Pratchett. My Pratchett initiation and I feel so bad for it being so late! What an ironic and life-affirming at the same time author. Will certainly continue my introduction.
And now I feel so sorry for countless watchmen I ruthlessly KOed with my blackjack. They were doing their work, after all, and had poor grannys to feed.

I just finished reading a book called Big Coal. It's an a bit dated now but it's an interesting look into the US coal industry and all the warnings and alarms you could possibly want about the dangers of coal mining, coal burning, etc. It was written by a journalist so it's not a difficult read.

For a while now, I've been reading all Babylon 5 novels.
Out of 9 first books, only one is fully canon I believe (#9) and #7 is partially canon (Alpha Omega III storyline).
All the 3 trilogies are fully canon I think.
#4 I skipped as I just really hated how it was written, and #8 I'll catch up with in the future, as atm I'm too invested in canon books.
Right now I'm reading through Psi Corps trilogy 3rd book, and that trilogy is great. I'd argue that the first book in that trilogy can be read even if you don't really know anything about Babylon 5, as it takes place way before the tv show, and it's a very solid sci-fi story.
If you like the tv show though, those are a no brainer.

I’m reading Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver, which is a modern day retelling of Dickens’ David Copperfield. It teaches me a lot about what it’s like to be poor and downtrodden in rural America. I’m glad that I’m reading it in English, I don’t think the colorful hillbilly vernacular could be translated to Dutch while keeping its unique quality.

Interesting. I might take a look at that title. I've read one of her earlier works The Bean Trees and that was pretty good.

I finished reading Damned by Chuck Palahniuk. The ending was meh.
