Didn't Hemingway himself say that it sucked?

Yeah, he did. I guess I just hoped he was being overly harsh on himself :(

In intermediate school I vaguely remember reading a quirky fantasy novel about a rock band and one of the members was like the Grim Reaper's daughter or something. Does anyone have any idea what the name of this novel was and/or the author?

You are in for a treat Stitch. I couldn't begin to describe the plot but that aint what it's about anyway. The characters are all very ordinary except for Ignatius who is most extraordinary. Nothing shakes his delusions. Funny as hell. Sad when you think what could have been written had John held on.
And Thor02, I like Jacks short stories best. His simple Hemmingwayesque style is perfect for the outdoors where senses heighten and the mind sheds it's elaborations. When he describes the cold you feel the icy wind on your cheek. "War" is still the most perfect paradigm of it I've read. You don't know what war or whose side but none of that matters at so personal a level.

Is Neal Stephenson's stuff really that bad, dethtoll?
I've been meaning to read something by him for some time; mostly because my roommate always acts like he's God's gift to science fiction.
