Ooof. Just... Ooof.
Ok, I deserve an
ooof or two, I suppose - I hadn't noticed the little slow time button in the top corner of the screen! :p Obviously I know that time automatically slows down when I do certain things, but now I can slow down time whenever I like. I guess that will make things a bit easier, although I have a feeling that this will still be challenging as hell. The stressful situations and how to deal with them is what Bomber Crew is all about, I'm cool with that, but I still feel that there's a bit too much to do when my soldiers won't do even the most simple tasks unless I give them specific orders.
I guess I just need to get better at this game, and I might even make an effort to do so now. I'll certainly give it another proper chance at least. :)

Been playing some more Bomber Crew and I'm starting to warm up for it. It's strange, I don't even use that slow time thing (that I only discovered yesterday) that much, and I don't think it even makes a big difference, but suddenly I'm breezing through the easier missions without too much trouble. Perhaps it's the fact that I can always slow down time when things get too hectic that makes me feel less stressed, and I can then deal with the situation better. I didn't expect Bomber Crew to teach me something about myself.
There's much more depth to this game than I first thought too. There are so many different skills, so many ways to upgrade my bomber and my crew... two days ago it would have felt completely overwhelming, but now I'm looking forward to it all. I still hate sending my gunners to get new ammo belts about every ten seconds in combat though, but I only just found out that later on I can get guns with auto-feed. \:D/
The gamepad controls still feel a bit awkward, but these days I like to sit back comfortably with a controller in my hand when gaming, so I better get used to it.

After finishing Thief Gold/TMA and System Shock 2, I think I'm going to stick to old classics for awhile. Right now I'm replaying Quake (about halfway through the 4th ep) and then I'm going to give the 2 official expansions and the 5th episode that Machinegames made a try for the first time. Somehow I forgot how much I love this game, I should probably replay it more than once a millenium.

Finished the main campaign which was even more awesome than I remembered. Such a good game. Also beat Episode 5 which was hard as fuck. Some great opportunities for monster infighting though, and the level design was really really good, probably on par with the original Id episodes.

Alien Afterlife: A lot more coherent and less random than might have been expected or suggested. Gameplay is pretty traditional: fetch quests, some simple shooting, memory game, crafting. What's shown is a little unusual, though -- as is the story... and the music. Not bad for a short distraction and maybe something to think about if you really want to.
Edit:
Sometimes to Deal with the Difficulty of Being Alive, I Need to Believe There Is a Possibility That Life Is Not Real.: worth it just for the inner dialogue of pizza in the woods.

Ooooh....I didn't know there was a sequel to Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. Guess I'm playing that. Oh, and also The Last of Us Part 2 and a few other games. Derp.

I caved in and bought New Super Lucky's Tale, because it's a goddamn fox game, only to discover it is the The Game of Ultimate Squick. Not the fox. The fox is fine. However, everything else has character design with asymmetric eyes set too widely apart, and slack-jawed, snaggle-toothed mouths. Not only that, the game takes the "nonsense syllables" convention from Rare's Nintendo 64 game, but replaces them with actual words, like "kibble" and "dindins" for the cat characters.
I played a level, and set it down thinking "what the fuck." Now the thought of going back to it makes my skin crawl. It's finally happened: I discovered a fox game I didn't like.
