Yeah, similarly confused - allowing another YouTube thread in CommChat made sense because it's random by nature therefore it's less likely that it was stifling unique conversations. It seems, which I guess I understand, that the mods don't want to outright ban the usage of them but at the same time discourage them/close when they become unwieldy behemoths.

On the PA forums they close down threads and start a new one when they reach 100 pages. Not sure whether that's much of an improvement for those who hate megathreads (or in general), but it might keep threads such as "What are you playing/watching/listening to?" from becoming too unwieldy.

Cool, I go there every so often too. Mostly in GV and CF though.
