I knew they'd do this.

A great move I say. 300+ pages is enough. I'd rather read your progress/opinions on threads specific to that game or genre.
13 pages shy of 400 actually. :p

well done, mods

henke and ulu are so full of right in that linked thread. We're slowly clawing back the old ttlg, thread by thread!
june gloom on 31/8/2011 at 03:05
And how are we going to do that without a lot of the people who made Old TTLG what it was?
You want Old TTLG, a whole lot of folks are going to have to suddenly stop having lives and start posting more.
Seriously, guys, let it go. I haven't been here as long as some people but I've seen some of the changes too. It happens. (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135776&p=2067595&viewfull=1#post2067595) Forum entropy is inevitable. Shaking your fists and blaming megathreads (or me, for that matter- which some people do and I'm not entirely convinced they're kidding) isn't going to stop it.

I've yet to be dissuaded from my stance onmegathreads or hear any compelling argument that a community as small as ours can sustain megathreads without detriment to the general thread count/post generation (let's just leave the contentious topic of "worthwhile discussion" out of it for now).
PigLick on 31/8/2011 at 04:26
Im shaking my fists right now! damn kids
on a serious note dethy you make some reasonable points, but my disliking of huge megathreads hasnt really got anything to do with "the demise of ttlg", its more do to with what scots is talking about.
june gloom on 31/8/2011 at 07:32
I don't see how it's affecting post count in any meaningful way nor do I see what thread count has to do with anything. So we have a few less threads. Who cares? Why is it important to have more than a few active threads? It's not like megathreads have a complete monopoly. Hell, even with WAYP gone, I haven't seen more than the usual amount of threads than there were when WAYP wasn't locked.
The nature of TTLG has changed. Bitching because there aren't 20-30 active threads on a relatively quiet, depopulated forum is a bit unreasonable.
Besides. Some of you who never even post here anymore... not having megathreads isn't going to make you come around more anyway, is it? Why do you care?
