Why do a lot of random posts get a small font on the forum, and the rest are normal-sized? I notice a lot of Sulphur's posts are small font, for example. Mine, too
The hell are you talking about?

I've also been playing Parking Garage Rally Circuit but I had the volume down and didn't realize the soundtrack was ska, so now I'm conflicted about recommending it. I will say it has better arcade drift controls than any Ridge Racer I've ever played.

Haha. Ridge Racer is a good comparison. The drifting similarly feels very artificial, but in a very fun way.

Maybe I haven't played enough classic Ridge Racer, but I never feel like I'm in control of those cars. They swing sideways suddenly, and then they either wrap around the corner in a gravity-defying feat or they crash, and I can never predict which it'll be. In PGRC I can actually control the drift by countersteering, which makes it a lot easier to pick up. The challenge comes from stringing the boosts together, which increases your speed, and then it starts to become harder to balance but not in a way that feels unfair.

Hey guys, I've been playing a lot of Session, the Skating Sim. Makes me feel cool & important.
Inline Image:
https://i.ibb.co/6H43K8M/cool.gifIt tries to be faithful to how real skating works, e.g., each controller stick controls the weight you put on each foot, so it takes some practice to get the tricks down. But it feels really good and natural to get into a good flow with your body and movement, and nailing a good trick feels better than any arcade treatment.

I just finished playing Weird West. It was good, although I kinda rushed through the last couple characters because I felt like I had seen everything the game had to offer by that point. Next up is FIREWATCH

I feel a bit like this thread is the Shimmer from Annihilation, if the intelligence behind the Shimmer was computer game nerds with a thing for font-based humour. And I kinda feel that Sulphur escalated things too quickly - the next step should've been Papyrus.
On a different note: I'm enjoying Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown a lot - and, differently from some other Metroidvania games, its platforming and combat are already pretty fun early on. When I last replayed Hollow Knight, I realised I'd forgotten how it takes a couple of upgrades until the platforming becomes enjoyable and the combat clicks into place. In spite of this, Hollow Knight is likely to remain my favourite example of the genre for its style and atmosphere, as these are exactly my jam (ironically I really don't like bugs in real life :p), but I can see why people bounce off it, whereas I'd say The Lost Crown plays better in the first couple of hours, which makes it more immediately fun.

You are a degenerate, Jason Moyer
Filthy, filthy Comic Sans.
