For some reason this year's Edge.org question didn't strike me as being as though provoking as older ones. Maybe I had woken up too recently when I read it. Prominent themes were religion and global warming.
(
http://edge.org/q2007/q07_index.html) Here it is.
I'm optimistic about graduating and getting a good job, but that's not the sort of big-picture thing all those eggheads are concerned with. I still don't understand why they asked Eno for his opinion.

Here is his first quote :

Never fight bigger boys or dogs.
The essence of pessimism, making void to my eyes whatever he may say after that. Poorly chosen words, or dead inside.
As for me, despite valuing an analytical analyzis of my world, I have unrepressable irrational views on my own future made of fatalism, destiny and chocolate.
Anyway, I have recently found an extrinsic reason to live, I am optimistic that :
* I'll keep it.
* That will lead me to find a craft / a field I'll be interested in.

Not one goddamned fucking thing.
Not about my life, my career, my prospects for happiness, or the hope that my perspective on any of this will change.
happy new year

That we all must eat, shit, pay taxes, and die.
And maybe go on a couple of diets in between.
