That's... Weird. I use zero bounce all the time with no problem. Though, I'm using 2D, which is an altogether different physics engine from the 3D, so my experience may not be relevant.

Hey guys, thanks for the supporting words. you guys are awesome as always :thumb:
The thing is, tho, I've been increasingly more serious about gamedev... I realized I've been putting more time into this game than my actual web dev job, and it's actually starting to show. So I'm not sure if I can really just faff around for howeverlong I feel like. Tho maybe that's just my mistake...
Blah, anyway, today I added a loot and safes system, even tho not really part of the plot. Figured I'd give you taffers something extra to do ;)

Long story short, cuz it's late, and I wanna sleep.
I've been goofing around with my pixel art crap, and I got this idea of maybe doing some textures using the style. I get an idea, prep some stuff up, and go off looking for some examples, when I come across...

I think "that's kinda cool looking", then "hell, I can do that". So I did. I open up Modo, spend literally 4 minutes modelling a quick cliff using the style, baking some textures, and throwing on a light grunge effect in Photoshop. Practically no effort at all...

I'm doing something with this. It's so quick to do, and it nets such nice (albeit somewhat abstract) results, I could whip up some maps for a game in no time. All it takes is a bit of extra care, and you could have something playable.

Oh yes, that is very nice. :)
@Koob: u mean Faf. I assure you my objects are not bouncing.

@Renz, give us an open world and shit to do & fan for life. That's just my own preference, of course.
Renzatic on 28/5/2014 at 00:00
If I do make something, it won't be quite as open world as, say, Skyrim or any western RPG. It'd be more like Alundra or Dark Souls. Lots to explore, and plenty of secrets to find, but a little more structured in comparison.
To get on topic, (

I think the next thing I need to do is learn how to do proper baked radiosity lighting in Modo, not just ambient occlusion.

Dang it, Unity. :p You finally release a fix for a show-stopping bug - and also include ~450 more bug fixes, invalidating whole reams of code written around your engine's quirks. Oh, well. One day to port wasn't bad, really.

Yeah that looks real good!
Is the crumpled paper effect on the textures or have you applied that afterwards?
